Viewport Solo Mode

RELEASE 16

When working with large/complex projects it can be difficult to hide or display specific objects or object groups. Often you want to concentrate your work on a specific area within the scene. In addition to the colored dots in the Object Manager and the layers (see Layer Manager and Layer Concept), this can now also be done using selections. This works as follows:

Only the selected object (with a few exceptions, see below) is visible in the Viewport and all other objects are hidden.

If an object is an element of a Generator (e.g., SDS or Lathe), the generated object will still be shown.

The Viewport Solo mode has no effect on rendering.

Viewport Solo Off

Use this option to turn the Viewport Solo mode off. Selections have no effect on the visibility in the Viewport.

Viewport Solo Single

In this mode, all objects will be hidden except for those currently selected. Hierarchies don’t play a role; Child objects of selected objects will also be hidden.

Viewport Solo Hierarchy

This mode displays only the selected objects, including their Child objects.

Viewport Solo Selection

This option determines the following:

  • Enabled: The visibility of objects will be defined automatically when they are selected (this reflects the expected Solo mode behavior).
  • Disabled: Nothing will change with regard to visibility when additional selections are made. Why are these separate settings available? First, the option is enabled and you can define which object groups should be visible. You can then disable the option and make selections within this group without modifying the visibility of the group as a whole.
