BodyPaint 3D

Note:The BodyPaint 3D functionality essentially consists of 2 areas:

With regard to the Redshift renderer, editing bitmaps is only possible to a limited extent. BodyPaint 3D was designed for the classic Cinema 4D renderer, allowing you to paint in real time in the rendered image in multiple material channels simultaneously. This is not possible with Redshift. Although bitmaps can be edited with the painting tools, all real-time functionalities are lost and a modified bitmap is only correctly recognized and rendered by Redshift after the texture has been saved.
However, the UV editing options described in the following chapters also apply to working with Redshift and can be fully utilized.

Note:The descriptions on the following pages refer to 'BodyPaint 3D'. This stands for the complete package - UV processing, texture painting, etc. - of the BodyPaint 3D function complex. There is no longer a separate BodyPaint 3D product, as its functionality is completely contained in Cinema 4D. There are separate layouts for BodyPaint 3D (top right in the program window under 'Layout': 'Paint' and 'UVEdit'). The structure of the following descriptions roughly follows the 'Paint' layout.
