Camera Deformer

With this deformer and a grid placed on a camera view, objects can be deformed. This is particularly useful if you want to make deformations that are immobile with regard to the camera view. Think, for example, of a smearing tool that deforms the object volume instead of a pixel surface.

For example, you can stretch objects when you get close to the edges of the image. The Camera Deformer points can be influenced with the help of Pose Morph. Another purpose of the deformer would be to quickly and easily compress and stretch one or more objects.

To use the Camera Deformer, simply create it and assign it to the object to be deformed. To influence several objects at the same time, place the deformer together with the objects under a Null object in the same hierarchy level. Then select the deformer and switch to Point Mode to edit deformer points (including immediate object deformation).

The Camera Deformer is ideal for making final pose and shape changes to stationary objects. Of course, it can also be used for animations, but then it has a different effect.
Viewed from a different angle, it becomes clear that the deformation (here linked to the shown camera) maintains the object volume.
Note:If you have switched the camera to perspective, it may be necessary to switch off the 'Near Clipping' ('Details' tab) in order to make the grid visible.

The Camera dDformer is also very suitable for giving sterile, too-perfect clone collections an organic look by hand:
