# Tags Menu

Tags can be used to assign certain properties to objects (or entire hierarchies). The description of most tags can be found in this chapter. A few other tags are described in conjunction with their respective functionality (e.g., Motion Tracker tags).

The tags are organized logically in sub-folders in the application.

With the introduction of Cinema 4D 2023.1, all tags will be treated as commands. This means that they will be available in the [Command Manager](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/5224.html.md) and can, for example, be assigned keyboard shortcuts or added to palettes and menus.
