# Object Settings for Curves and Surfaces

> **Tip:** Tip:The IGES objects described in the following will appear, among other places, with an imported \*.dwg file. The reason is that old IGES importers (which have been replaced in the meantime) that were used in previous Cinema 4D versions are used to interpret NURBS.

The Object icons only differ slightly: Objects whose Object icons have a dark outline are primitive curves and surfaces. The shape of the trimmed surface is derived from the **Child** objects.
