It jitters splines into lightning-like shapes and can spawn additional discharge curves nearby — a quick way to create electric arcs, Tesla effects or energy beams. > **Tip:** Note:There are also *Cineversity* videos for these special Node capsules, which demonstrate their practical use. Follow [this link](https://cineversity.maxon.net/en/series/cinema-4d-nodal-capsules) to the corresponding overview page. This node can be used to add new points and random oscillations to a spline. The result can then act like lightning or an electrical discharge. It is also possible to automatically generate several of these lightning curves that lie in the vicinity of the original spline. From version 2025.2, this asset capsule is also available directly as an object via the familiar Deformer menu within the C4D layout, so that it can be used directly in the *Object Manager* as a child of a spline. ![Image: 2024-0_node_electric_spline_modifier_01.png](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-0_node_electric_spline_modifier_01.png)\ The figure shows the original spline on the left and a possible result after processing by the Electric Spline Modifier in the middle. On the right is another possible result. The node can also generate multiple splines as a bundle.
