# Remap

> This page describes the **Remap layer** in **Cinema 4D**'s Field system. It applies the familiar per-Field remapping controls — contour modes included — to everything arranged above it in the list.

The Remap Layer settings are exactly the same as the Formula Field settings (see [Enable Remapping](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/FSPHERE-ID_FIELDCONTROLS.html.md), for example), which has the same settings in the Remapping tab. There, they only affect the respective Field - here all Layers arranged above are affected.
