It shapes Field influence from a spline — as a surrounding tube, projected volume or growing effect along its course — curves become falloff geometry. If the [Spline Effector](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OESPLINE.html.md) is primarily concerned with arranging objects on a spline, a spline in a spline field plane is used to spatially define effects. This can be, for example, a tube around the spline, the spline projected onto a specific axis as a volume or a growing effect along the course of the spline. Splines can be either: - can be selected when calling up the spline object in the view or in the Object Manager. - or dragged and dropped directly into the field list. The spline names are transferred to the field list. You will then not find the spline object under this name in the field list! > **Tip:** Note:Remember that spline generators such as the Hair object (which can generate splines) can also be used: you can use them to interactively "brush" directions, for example. # Example [Video: 2026-2_spline_field_01_.mp4](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2026-2_spline_field_01_.mp4) [![Image: halvar.png](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/halvar.png)](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Scenes/2026-2_spline_field_01_.c4d)
