USD is the emerging pipeline standard from film and VFX — the exporter writes geometry, animation and material approximations, including Redshift channels. # Redshift Analogous to the materials of the Standard/Physical Renderer, Redshift materials will also be exported. Essentially, these are the following Redshift material channels: Base Color, Opacity/Transmission Color (where Opacity takes precedence over Transmission), Metalness, Reflection Roughness, Overall Tint (encoded in the red channel of the glTF Occlusion Map), Normal Map (if defined as Tangent Space Normal), Emission Color, Clearcoat, Displacement. Also note with Redshift materials: Due to slightly different material concepts, there will be differences in appearance between Cinema 4D and USD. # Character Animation The USD export supports skeleton animations, so joint animations are exported using weightings and skin deformers. Please note that these must be keyframe-controlled animations, CMotion-generated animations are therefore not exported.
