# Volume Import Settings

> This page covers the **Volume import settings** in **Cinema 4D**. They load OpenVDB (.vdb) float grids as Volume objects — cached smoke, clouds and SDF data ready for meshing, shading or simulation.

Use this option to import OpenVDB files (\*.vdb) (only float grids: float comma values, will be properly evaluated for further use)
