# Sum

> This page describes the **Sum node** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It aggregates single values or sequences — totals, averages, minima or maxima — condensing data streams into one result.

This function can be used to process single values or a sequence of values. Among other things, you can calculate average values, output the minimum or maximum amounts, or calculate the total.
