# Arithmetic

> This page documents the **Arithmetic node** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It performs add, subtract, multiply and divide on many data types — the universal calculator of node setups, directly searchable by operation.

This Node offers the basic arithmetic operations add, subtract, divide and multiply and can process various **data types**.

The Node can be automatically searched for in the desired calculation mode and created via the *Asset Browser*. Simply enter the desired calculation type, i.e., the **+, -**, **\*** or **/** signs, or the terms *plus*, *minus*, *multiply* or *divide* in the search bar of the *Asset Browser*. You will then find the appropriately configured version of the *Arithmethik Node* in the search results.
