It relaxes surfaces procedurally — like a persistent smooth brush — and can even mimic cloth-like draping, which helps when modeling garments and softened shapes non-destructively. Use this deformer to smooth a surface. It can work similarly to the [Brush](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TOOLBRUSH.html.md) in Smooth mode or also make the mesh behave like a piece of clothing. This gives you a lot of flexibility when modeling, especially when creating garments that are difficult to model with the standard modeling tools. # Example [Video: 2026](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2026-0_smooth_01_.mp4) [![Image: halvar.png](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/halvar.png)](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Scenes/2026-0_smooth_01_.c4d)
