Generated from the CMotion object, these editable Nulls mark individual foot placements — allowing a generated walk cycle to be adapted step by step to terrain or choreography. When generating step (per **Generate Steps** – **CMotion** object's **Steps** tab), a set of Null Objects are created in the **Object Manager**. These can be selected and edited to fit your needs, and they also have a few options. ![Image: 031994.jpg](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/031994.jpg) ## CMotion Steps Null Object This is the parent Null of the hierarchy of steps. This is the object you need to Drag & drop in the **Steps** link found in the Steps tab of the **CMotion** object. **CMotion** will read automatically the hierarchy of steps and apply them to the dynamic walk cycle. You can rename this object to identify more easily the edit you have done to your walk. ## CMotion Step Object This object can be of different types, and should always reflect the hub/targets hierarchy you have in the [Objects list](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TCAWCYCLE-ID_OBJECTPROPERTIES.html.md).
