Values of less than 0% and greater than 100% can be entered." --- ## Effector ### Strength Parameter ID: `ID_MG_BASEEFFECTOR_STRENGTH` · Range: [-∞..+∞%] Use this setting to adjust the overall strength of the effect. Values of less than 0% and greater than 100% can be entered. ### Selection Parameter ID: `ID_MG_BASEEFFECTOR_SELECTION` ![Image: 018406.jpg](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/018406.jpg)\ On the left, a Step effector is shown without selection; on the right, it is shown with a selection applied. A Step effector was chosen here as an example of selection; otherwise, selections work differently depending on the type of effector. A [MoGraph Selection](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TMGSELECTION.html.md) or [MoGraph Weightmap](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TMGWEIGHT.html.md) tag can be dragged into this field or placed automatically by selecting a Cloner object and an existing MoGraph selection/weighting, and creating an Effector. The Effector will then work as follows, depending on the tag’s settings: - **MoGraph Selection** tag: Will only affect the clones belonging to the selection. - **MoGraph Weightmap** tag: The clone weighting (values between 0% and 100%) saved in the tag will be multiplied with the effector strength. ![Image: subgroup.gif](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/subgroup.gif)\ Min/Max ### Maximum Parameter ID: `ID_MG_BASEEFFECTOR_MAXSTRENGTH` · Range: [-∞..+∞%] Use these settings to increase or decrease internal range values. Note also the **Remapping** settings for the Layers in the Field list. Use this Field functionality as your preferred method since it’s more powerful and easier to understand in combination with other Layers. ### Minimum Parameter ID: `ID_MG_BASEEFFECTOR_MINSTRENGTH` · Range: [-∞..+∞%] The values entered for the settings in the **Parameter** tab represent maximum values for those transformations. The Effector is free to choose from a range of values between 0% and this maximum value if the **Minimum** and **Maximum** sliders are set to 0% and 100%, respectively. Adjusting these sliders will affect the range of values from which the Effector has to choose accordingly. > **Tip:** Example:\ > **R.P** is set to 90° in the **Parameter** tab. The following will apply:\ > Minimum = 0%; Maximum = 100%: The first clone will be located at 0°, the last at 90°.\ > Minimum = -100%; Maximum = 100%: The first clone will be located at -90%, the last at +90%. ### Spline Parameter ID: `MGSTEPEFFECTOR_SPLINE` ![Image: 006197.jpg](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/006197.jpg)\ The transformation shown is a result of the spline setting (insert) and a **S.Y** setting of 10. Use these function graphs (see also [**Function Graphs**](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/5822.html.md)) to influence the interpolation between the first and last clone. The interpolation will take place as it is shown by the graph. ### Step Gap Parameter ID: `MGSTEPEFFECTOR_GAP` · Range: [0..2147483647] ![Image: 006198.jpg](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/006198.jpg)\ **Step Gap** settings from left to right: 0,2,10. Use this setting to influence the interpolation values between the beginning clone and end clone. Increasing values greater than 0 will result in a lessening of the difference between each clone; differences between clone groups, within which no transformations take place, will still be evident.
