It applies transformations that accumulate continuously with animation time — endless rotation or drift without a single keyframe — controllable through Fields. > **Tip:** Tip:Note also the [Time Field Layer](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/FLTIME.html.md), which works similarly within the Field functionality. The Time Effector establishes its transformation values in accordance with the length of the animation. Thus, this Effector is ideal for creating effects based on animation length without having to set keys. > **Tip:** Example:Let's say a bunch of clones should move at 300m / sec. Simply create a Time Effector and set **P.Y** to 300m. That's it. Without having set a single key, this bunch of clones will move with a constant 300m / sec. in the Y-direction.\ > If, in addition, the weighting should change from 0% to 100% within 10 second, simple set **Weight Transformation** to 10%. Yep, that's it, you're done. Here, a Time Effector is applied to P.Y with a spherical field (“Field” tab). The clone bulge would continue to move indefinitely without you having to set a single key. Use the **Strength** slider to adjust the strength of the effect (values less than 0% and greater than 100% are possible). Use the **Minimum** and **Maximum** sliders to limit or expand the value range accordingly. To summarize: The Random Effector only affects the weighting, the Time Effector (with a defined [Time Offset](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OETIME-ID_MG_BASEEFFECTOR_GROUPPARAMETER.html.md)) modifies the velocity of the animation of individual clones depending on the weighting. More information regarding weighting can be found here: [Weight Transform](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OETIME-ID_MG_BASEEFFECTOR_GROUPPARAMETER.html.md).
