It transfers particles into another group — the key mechanism for staged behavior, since each group can carry its own Conditions, Forces and Modifiers. This can be used to send the particles to a new group. This is very helpful, for example, to avoid always subjecting the same particles to a *Condition* or *Modifier*. In this way, particles can also be removed from the sphere of influence of *Modifiers* or forces that lie under a *Particle Group*. ![Image: 2024-4_Particles_Modifiers_GroupChange_01.png](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/2024-4_Particles_Modifiers_GroupChange_01.png)\ Two groups are used here, between which the particles always switch back and forth. One group moves the particles downwards, the other upwards. The group change is triggered by conditions that check the Y-position of the particles.
