It renders local volumetrics — smoke, clouds, fire — from .vdb files or Pyro caches, shaded through the Redshift Volume or Pyro material. This object is used to simulate local volumetric effects, such as smoke, clouds or fire. It has to be used together with the *Redshift Volume* material or the *Redshift Pyro* material to colorize loaded .vdb files. If you are new to volume simulations and the Pyro system in Cinema 4D, have a look [at this page](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/GETTING_STARTED_WITH_PYRO_SIMULATION.html.md) to get you started.
