# Shear Object

> This page covers the **Shear deformer** in **Cinema 4D**. It tilts geometry sideways with an interactive handle — the quick way to slant buildings, italicize 3D text or add cartoon-style lean to objects.

Objects can be distorted with the Shear object. The Shear object has an orange-colored handle on its upper side. This handle can be used to control it interactively in the editor.
