It converts voxel volumes back into polygon surfaces along a chosen threshold value — the final step of volume modeling that produces renderable, editable geometry. This Generator can be used to convert Voxels back to polygons. Generally speaking, you can place all object here that contain Voxels. These include: - Volume Builder - Volume Set - Volume Object - Volume Loader - Pyro Object How can Voxels be converted back to polygons? As described under [Volume Type](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OVOLUMEBUILDER-ID_OBJECTPROPERTIES.html.md), each Voxel has its own value. Simply put, the Volume Mesher does nothing other than create a polygon surface that runs through Voxels with the same value (this is an absolute value, defined by the [Surface Threshold](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OVOLUMETOMESH-ID_OBJECTPROPERTIES.html.md) setting). ![Image: 041468.jpg](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/041468.jpg)\ Simplified depiction of a polygon-generating Volume Mesher The Volume Mesher's resolution depends on the size of the Voxels (corresponds to the Volume Builder's [Voxel Size](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OVOLUMEBUILDER-ID_OBJECTPROPERTIES.html.md) setting). > **Tip:** Note:Note also the [Remesh object](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OREMESH.html.md), which can be used to generate homogenous, more-or-less square polygons from any mesh.
