# Selection

> This page documents the **Hair Selection tag** in **Cinema 4D**. It stores saved selections of guides or guide points so grooming operations and materials can be limited to specific parts of a hairstyle later on.

Whenever you click on **Set Selection** (main menu: Hair/Set Selection) to save guides or guide points, the selection and its mode are then saved to a Hair Selection tag.
