# Polygon Selection

> This page describes the **Polygon Selection** for hair in **Cinema 4D**. It selects guides or guide points by clicking a polygonal outline around them — more precise than the lasso when straight selection borders are needed.

The Polygon Selection tool lets you click a series of straight lines around a selection. Selections can be expanded or reduced by simultaneously pressing the `Shift` or `Ctrl/Cmd` buttons, respectively.
