It generates fresh UV coordinates from standard projections such as planar, cubic, spherical or frontal — often the starting point before manual splitting and relaxing. This function generates new UV coordinates for the active object, allowing you to choose from various standard projection types. The result can either overwrite an existing [UVW Tag](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TUVW.html.md) or generate a new one. The resulting UV unwrap can then be further processed, for example, by manually splitting or merging it.\ Before executing the command, you should check the settings by clicking the gear icon: > **Note:** Please note that any defined *Seams* are not taken into consideration with this function. To make use of a *Seam Selection*, use the [UV Unwrap and Relax](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TOOLUVUNWRAP.html.md) tool instead.
