## Selections

The **Selections** tab is where you specify any [selections](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/VPTOONUP-OUTLINEMAT_GROUP_LINE.html.md) used by the tag or post effect. For example, here you can specify which UVW tags should be used for UVW lines.

### Mode

Parameter ID: `TOONRESTRICT_LINES_RESTRICT_MODE`

Defines whether or not the edges and polygons defined in the **Lines** setting below should be included or excluded for rendering.

### Lines

Parameter ID: `TOONRESTRICT_LINES_RESTRICT`

The Edge or Polygon Selection tags placed here define in general which lines should be drawn or omitted.

### Border

Parameter ID: `TOONRESTRICT_BORDER_RESTRICT`

The polygon Selection tag placed here defines which [Border](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/VPTOONUP-OUTLINEMAT_GROUP_LINE.html.md) should be drawn.

### Edges

Parameter ID: `TOONRESTRICT_EDGES_RESTRICT`

The edge Selection tag placed here defines which polygon edges will be drawn ([Edges](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/VPTOONUP-OUTLINEMAT_GROUP_LINE.html.md)).

### Contour UVW

Parameter ID: `TOONRESTRICT_CONTOUR_UVW`

The UVW tag placed here defines which [Contour](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/VPTOONUP-OUTLINEMAT_GROUP_LINE.html.md) will be drawn.

### Motion Areas

Parameter ID: `TOONRESTRICT_MOTION_SELECTIONS`

The polygon Selection tag placed here defines which region of the Motion Areas will be drawn ([Number of Lines](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/VPTOONUP-OUTLINEMAT_GROUP_LINE.html.md)).
