# User Data Tag

The User Data tag does nothing in and of itself. It's designed to hold the [User Data](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/5826.html.md).

In principle, User Data can be assigned to any object or tag. The disadvantage is that this is not obvious at first glance. The User Data tag makes this apparent.
