Inputs
This setting can be used to link textures or colors that you want to affect or replace.
- Red, Green, Gray, Alpha: The intensity of the channel selected here will be used for the recoloring. If the selected components have a greater intensity, the colors will be taken from the right end of the gradient. For less intensity, the colors on the left end of the gradient will be used.
- Average: The three input color components will be added and the result divided by 3. The result will be transferred to the gradient to define the new color value.
- Length: The color will be interpreted as a vector from which a length can be calculated. The vector length is longest with white and shortest with black. The result can therefore also be converted to the gradient to calculate a new color assignment.
- Square Length: As with the Length option, the input color will first be interpreted as a vector whose length can be calculated. Finally, the value ascertained will be squared. This results in the results being smaller than with the Length option and have a tendency to get their colors from the left end of the gradient. Only the brighter colors will be gotten from the right end of the gradient.
- Brightness: The brightness of the input color will be placed at a position on the gradient from which the new color will then be taken.
- Sum: The input color components will be added and the result will be placed at a position on the gradient. Since values in excess of 1 can quickly be reached, a larger portion of the input colors will take their new color from the right end of the gradient.
- Minimum/Maximum: The smallest and largest components will be taken from the red, green and blue color portions and their intensity will be interpreted as a position on the gradient to define the new color value.
The color profile selected here will be applied prior to the output of the color gradient:
- Linear: All color and brightness values remain unchanged
- sRGB: A gamma value of 2.2 will be applied to the colors of the gradient prior to their output
Details about using the color gradient can be found under Color Gradient in Nodes.
