# Camera Map

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page describes the **Camera Map node** of the Redshift renderer in **Cinema 4D**. It projects an image from the camera's viewpoint — typically feeding a Matte Shadow Catcher so 3D objects integrate seamlessly with a filmed backplate.

This shader is used to project an image in camera space. It is generally used in conjunction with the [Matte Shadow Catcher](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/COM_REDSHIFT3D_REDSHIFT4C4D_NODES_CORE_MATTESHADOW.html.md) shader to generate input for the 'background', which will match the back-plate of the environment shader.
