# Illustrator Export

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page covers the **Illustrator export** in **Cinema 4D**, part of Sketch and Toon. It writes rendered lines and strokes as Adobe Illustrator vectors — turning 3D outlines into editable 2D artwork.

Sketch and Toon includes a vector exporter to the Adobe Illustrator format . Please keep in mind this is designed only for exporting the basic lines and strokes and simple texturing.

# To export the scene to Adobe Illustrator:

- Set the Illustrator Export options as desired (see **Illustrator Export preferences**).
- Choose File / Export / Illustrator 8.

Consider also the Cineware workflow as described in the chapter [Cineware with Adobe Illustrator](https://help.maxon.net/cw/de-de/#html/CINEWARE_ADOBE_ILLUSTRATOR.html). There you will find a description of how to open and work with Cinema 4D scene files directly in Adobe Illustrator
