# UV To Mesh

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page documents the **UV To Mesh node** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It outputs a geometry's UV layout as flat surfaces — turning the UV unwrap itself into editable geometry, e.g. for texture-related modeling.

This function can use geometries that have UV coordinates and output their UV coordinates as surfaces.

This node can be used to represent existing UV coordinates on a geometry as polygons. In this example, a classic sphere base object in hexahedron mode is used for this purpose.[![Image: halvar.png](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Images/halvar.png)](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/Resources/Scenes/046113.c4d)
