Inputs
Op Input
Here you can connect an object that you want to use as a reference system of the cloned shapes.
Children
Here you can create a variable number of inputs to group objects under the Cloner. The number of these inputs can be set via the Add input and Remove input buttons in the "Base" settings of the node.
Here you can specify the desired matrix of the Cloner.
Here you connect the distribution information, which is e.g. output by a Distribution Op node via its Op Output port.
This setting is only relevant if you use more than one shape as a clone:
- Iterate: This places the linked shapes on the distribution positions in the same order as they are linked to the Clones ports. After the last clone shape, the placement starts again at the first clone shape until all distribution points have been occupied.
- Blend: In this mode, primitive objects of the same type can be blended. This also works with polygon objects, as long as they have the same number of points.
- Random: In this mode, clones are randomly chosen and placed on the distribution. This random calculation is based on the Seed value.
If you use Clone arrangement Random, this value is used to calculate the randomness. Changing the value will therefore result in a different random distribution of the clones.
Clone
To these ports you connect the "Op Output" ports of the nodes whose geometry you want to use with the distribution. The number of these inputs can be created individually via the Add and Remove buttons on the node.
Outputs
This signal is helpful when linking different Nodes that have an equal hierarchical dependency to one another.
