# Rain

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page covers the **Rain node asset** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It generates positions in a volume that fall with gravity or drift with wind — simple rain, snow or rising-balloon effects without a particle system.

This Node can be used to generate positions within a cubic volume that are automatically moved per gravitation or wind. This can, for example, be used to simulate falling rain drops or ascending balloons.

The Rain Node places particles within a cube-shaped volume and animates these using gravitational and/or wind forces.
