# Mesh Property Interpolate

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page describes the **Mesh Property Interpolate node** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It computes normals, colors or UVs for any position on a surface — interpolating stored data between the actual mesh points.

This function can be used to calculate geometry information, such as normals, colors or UV coordinates for any position on a geometry.

A layer has a vertex map whose values between 0 and 1 are read here and transferred as color to a pyramid that can be moved over the layer by a null object.
