## Inputs

### Geometry

Parameter ID: `GEOMETRYIN`

Here you can direct the geometry into the Node whose points or polygons you want to clone.

### Type

Parameter ID: `COMMANDMODE`

Here you choose whether polygons or points should be cloned.

### Selection

Parameter ID: `SELECTION`

Via an initiated Index Array you can define the indices of the points or polygons to be cloned. Alternatively, an active point or polygon selection on the geometry will also be evaluated automatically.

### Selection String

Parameter ID: `SELECTIONSTRING`

Here you can, for example, use the name of a selection in quotation marks that you want to read out, e.g., *"MySelection"*. Otherwise, the *default* entry will use an active selection on the geometry.

You can also use special keywords and logical operations here to create a new selection from scratch or a combination of already saved selections. The following keywords and operations can be used:

- *Default*: This term causes an active selection currently present on the geometry to be used. If no selection is active, all points will be used.
- *odd*: This term is used to select all elements that have an odd index number.
- *even*: This term is used to select all elements that have an even index number.
- *all*: This selects all elements of the selected type.
- *hidden*: Selects the hidden elements of the geometry.
- *Name of a saved selection*: If you enter the name of a saved selection in quotation marks, this selection will be read and used. To use a combination of a saved selection and another keyword or selection, use quotation marks with the selection name.
- *Index numbers*: You can also use index numbers directly, just as you are used to from the Index Array From String Node.
- *Mathematical and logical operations*: Mathematical or logical operations can be used to combine selections. Using the string *odd – "center"* for instance selects all odd elements and then subtracts the selection that has been stored by the name *"center"*. You can use +, -, & (logical and), | (logical or) as well as a comma to combine multiple selections or index sequences.

### Clones

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_CLONECOUNT` · Range: [0..2147483647]

Here you can define the number of clones. This number does not include the output element.

### Offset

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_OFFSET` · Range: [-∞..+∞m]

This offset defines the distance from the initial element to the last clone along the selected shape axis. All clones are evenly distributed over this distance.

### Holes

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_HOLES` · Range: [0..100%]

With this percentage value you can define how many cloned elements should be omitted. The spiral staircase would then be missing a few steps. At 0%, the full number of clones will be created. At 50%, only half. The omitted elements will be selected randomly. At 100%, no new elements will be created.

### Scale

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_SCALE` · Range: [0..100%]

With this value you can define the size that the last clone should have. For example, if you define 50%, the last clone will be half the size of the source element. At 100% the size remains unchanged.

### Axis

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_AXIS`

Here you can define the geometry axis around which the clones should be rotated. For a spiral staircase, this would be the Y axis of the cube. To create a realistic-looking spiral staircase, the object axis should lie slightly outside the cube.

### Rotation

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_ROTATION` · Range: [-∞..+∞°]

Here you can define how far the clones should be rotated around the geometry axis. 180° is a half turn, 360° a full turn.

### Move Var.

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_MOVEVARIANCE` · Range: [XYZ m]

All clones are assigned a fixed position. You can vary this using the Move Var. setting. For example, if you define a value of 10 for the Y-position of each clone, it means that the clones will deviate between -10 and 10 units from their Y-position.

### Scale Var.

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_SCALEVARIANCE` · Range: [XYZ %]

Here you can vary the clones in size. The values are given as a percentage.

100% means the size will not be changed. For example, if you enter 50% for the X value, the X size of the individual elements can vary between 50% and 100%. At 0%, the size will vary between 0% and 100%. If you enter 200%, it will vary between 100% and 200%.

An example: X = 200%, Y = 100%, Z = 50% - this produces a ratio of 2 : 1 : 0.5. The clones' sides can only be scaled using this ratio. If this option is disabled, the clones' sides can be scaled independently.

### Rotation Var

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_ROTATIONVARIANCE` · Range: [HBP °]

Each clone will be assigned its own virtual axis (this is calculated from the center of gravity of the clone). The clones can be rotated randomly. The degree values that you enter here for each rotation axis define the maximum positive and negative rotation around the respective axis.

45° would mean that the clones can each rotate within a rotation range of -45° to 45°.

### Uniform Scale

Parameter ID: `NET_MAXON_COMMAND_MODELING_CLONE_UNIFORMSCALE`

If this option is selected, the percentage defined for X, Y and Z simultaneously serve as a ratio.
