# Alignment

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page documents the **Alignment node** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It builds matrices with predefined axis alignment — simplifying aim-at and orientation tasks between objects and positions.

This Node makes it easier to calculate a matrix whose axes have a predefined alignment. This is, for example, helpful for functions for which the length of an object should be aligned to the position of other objects.
