The Node offers three modes:
Cycloid: The simple cycloid is created by an unrolling circle (with the selected radius) in which a point is traced (with distance a).
Creation of a cycloid curve.
Epicycloid: The epicycloid is the rotating curve of a circle (radius r) that moves outside of a second (usually) larger circle (using Radius).
Creation of an epicycloid.
The hypocycloid is the rotating curve of a circle (radius r) that moves inside a second (usually) larger circle (using Radius).
Creating a hypocycloid curve.
Radius of the main circle.
Radius of the secondary circle, used with the modes “Epicycloid” and “Hypocycloid”.
Distance of the traced point from the center of the main circle (Type Cycloid), from the center of the sub circle (Types Epicycloid and Hypocycloid).
These values define the start and end positions of the rolling circle. There is a small, but crucial, difference between the Cycloid, Hypocycloid and Epicycloid values.
For Cycloid, you simply define the values for the start angle and the end angle of the rotating circle.
With Epicycloid and Hypocycloid, you define the values for the start and end points on the fixed circle. However, the rolling circle still starts at 0°. Just consider this angle range as the range where the roll curve becomes visible
Here you can toggle in which of the three planes the spline shape is created.
Enabling this option will reverse the point order of the spline.
