# Color Op

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page documents the **Color Op node** of the Scene Nodes system in **Cinema 4D**. It assigns objects a display color — comparable to the Basic-tab display color or MoGraph coloring — within the operator stream.

This Node can be used to assign a surface color to objects. This is comparable to the **Display Color** for objects in their Basic settings in the Attribute Manager, or the colors that can be applied by MoGraph.

The Color Op Node can be used to modify the display color of objects, e.g., to individually color distributions as in this example.
