# Atom Array

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page documents the **Atom Array object** in **Cinema 4D**. It replaces the edges of its child geometry with cylinders and the points with spheres — instantly creating molecule-style or wireframe-look structures from any mesh.

The Atom Array turns every of its child objects into an atom grid-like construct. All object edges are replaced by cylinders and all object points by spheres. For example, the landscape object becomes the following object:

> **Tip:** NoteThe Atom Array is also ideal for rendering the polygon edges (i.e. the **mesh**). To do this, set Cylinder Radius = Sphere Radius.
