# Kill

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page documents the **Kill modifier** of the particle system in **Cinema 4D**. It deletes particles — typically filtered by an upstream Condition — for controlled cleanup, spatial trimming or ending streams at a defined event.

You can use this *Modifier* to delete particles. To ensure that this happens in a targeted manner, a *Condition* can be added upstream, for example, with which only the particles to be deleted are sorted out. In the following example, a *Shader Field* has been combined with a *Condition* so that only those particles are deleted that lie on a white field of the *Tile Shader* used here at the Emitter.

The particles that lie on a white field of a projected check pattern at the Emitter will automatically be deleted here.
