In this example, various assigned tree models were randomly varied in size and rotation and placed on the landscape based on its slope. 2027 There are many common projects in which objects need to be placed randomly or strategically on a surface. Think, for example, of grass, bushes, or trees in a landscape. In some cases, these tasks can already be accomplished quite well using the [Cloner](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OMOGRAPH_CLONER.html.md) object and various MoGraph [Effectors](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/7443.html.md), as well as [Field](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/58455.html.md) objects. However, this work can be done even faster with this specialized *Scatter Generator*, which provides all the necessary settings for this task in one place. Otherwise, it works the same way as other common generators in Cinema 4D. In this case, that means the objects to be duplicated—such as pebbles or trees—must be ungrouped and placed under the *Scatter* object. You can also use multiple objects if, for example, you want to randomly distribute different tree models across a landscape. You specify which object these copies should be generated on by linking them—for example, to the corresponding ground or landscape object—on the generator’s *Distribution* settings page.
