# Wind Object

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page covers the **Wind object** in **Cinema 4D**'s particle forces. It pushes particles in a set direction — with optional turbulence for gusty variation — driving fluttering cloth, drifting snow or leaning particle streams.

Wind deflects the particle flow. The direction in which the wind is blowing is shown in the editor by a wind wheel with a small arrow in the modifier.

By adding turbulence, effects such as wind that changes direction and strength over time can be realized.

# Example

This piece of fabric fluttering in the wind benefits from the turbulence functionality of the wind object.
