# Selections

You are here:

## Selections

### Polygons

Parameter ID: `BOOLEANTAG_SELECTION_POLYGON`

You can define a polygon Selection tag for each Boolean tag; the polygons that the tag-bearing object contributes to the result are stored in this tag.

The Selection tag is carried by the [Boolean generator](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OBOOLEANGENERATOR.html.md).

Make sure that you define different selection names for each tag, because if they were identical, they would be combined into one.

Exception: if the tag-bearing objects have their own materials, they are automatically named differently so that the materials remain in the correct places.

### Intersect Edges

Parameter ID: `BOOLEANTAG_SELECTION_INTERSECT`

Here you can define an edge Selection tag for each Boolean tag, in which the cutting edges that the tag-carrying object contributes to the result are stored.

The [Boolean generator](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OBOOLEANGENERATOR.html.md) carries the Selection tag.

Make sure that you define different selection names for each tag, because if they were identical, they would be combined into one.

See also [Intersect Edges](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OBOOLEANGENERATOR-ID_BOOLEANGENERATOR_SELECTION.html.md) with the Boolean generator.
