# Inflate

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page documents the **Inflate brush** for sculpting in **Cinema 4D**. It pushes vertices outward along their normals (or inward with Ctrl) — the typical brush for puffing up muscles, lips or cushion-like volumes.

The inflating effect results in a rounded chin; pressing the `Ctrl` key results in large eye sockets.

Use the **Inflate** brush to move vertices in the direction of their Normals (pressing the `Ctrl` key moves them in the opposite direction) to create inflated or concave regions.

An overview of all available brushes can be found here: [Brushes](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/49929.html.md).
