# Transfer

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page covers the **Transfer function** in **Cinema 4D**. It moves selected objects onto the position, scale and/or rotation of a clicked target object — a quick alignment aid when objects must sit exactly where another one is.

Use this function to transfer the selected objects to the position, scale and/or rotation of another object.

# Usage

Select the object you want to modify (multiple selection is also possible), select the **Transfer** command and click on the object(s) in the Viewport whose properties should be assumed. As long as you have not yet clicked, a white line will be displayed that will show which object will be selected when you press the mouse button. Alternatively you can drag the "surrogate" object into the [Transfer To](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TOOLTRANSFER-MDATA_MAINGROUP.html.md) field.
