# Camera Orientation Constraint

> **Note:** **What is it about?**
>
> This page describes the **Camera Orientation Constraint tag** in the motion-tracking workflow of **Cinema 4D**. It aligns the reconstructed camera's rotation with the world axes at a chosen frame — one of the calibration tools for anchoring a 3D reconstruction.

This tag can be used to link the camera's orientation (including the vertex cluster that lies relative to its position) to the world coordinate axes at a specific time in the animation. This only affects the rotational angle!

For example, if the camera should look exactly along the global Z axis at frame 30, then set **Frame Number** to 30 and **Axis** to All. The entire 3D reconstruction will be rotated accordingly.

If the camera position should also be set to the world origin at the same time in the animation, add a [Positions-Constraint-Tag](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/TPHCONSTRAINTPOS.html.md) and set its **Mode** to Camera to Position.

This tag is most effective if [Solve Mode](https://help.maxon.net/c4d/en-us/Content/html/OMOTIONTRACKER-PH_GROUP_3D_RECON.html.md) is set to Nodal Pan.
