Sound Key

Key Properties

Key Time

The key is located at this time in the animation.

Lock Time

Activate this option if you want to protect a key from inadvertently being edited.

Mute

Use this setting to mute a key. When a key is muted, any interpolation or change in value(s) between the muted key and the subsequent key will not take place. Once the animation reaches the next key, values will instantly jump to those contained in that key. Muting a key turns the animation for that key off until the next key is reached.

Breakdown

See Breakdown.

Volume [0..+∞%]

Use this setting to adjust the volume of the loaded sound file.

Balance [-100..100%]

Use this setting to adjust the balance of the loaded sound file. The value can range from -100% to 100%. A negative value moves the balance to the left, a positive value moves the balance to the right. This value is set to 0% (equal) by default.

3D sound rendering ignores the Balance setting. Volume and balance data result from the defined 3D sound properties, distance and movement. Volume can still be adjusted.

If you play an animation with the Play Sound setting active, Cinema 4D will mix all sound tracks, thereby disregarding the Volume and Balance settings. In order to have Cinema 4D include the Volume and Balance settings you must first render the sound using the 2D Sound Rendering function.
