Fresnel Dielectric

Fresnel Dielectric

The Fresnel calculation is already integrated into many material properties. If you want to use this effect to color a surface, for example, you can use the separate Fresnel node for dielectric and concuctive materials.

When light hits a dielectric surface, part of the light is refracted into the object. The remaining light is reflected and generates a reflection. This behavior, which is dependent on the angle of view onto the surface, can be described as the refraction index for many materials. Other than with the Fresnel Conductor node, not only will a coloring take place but only grayscale values will be output whose brightness expresses how intense the reflective properties of the surface are in each region.
