Material

Here you can customize the material previews that are displayed in the Material Editor and Attribute Manager.

Default Size

Defines the size of the preview in the Material Editor, Attribute Manager and Node Editor.

 Material Preview

Shader Default Project

Here you can change which scenes are used to generate the shader preview and material preview.

Material Default Project

Defines the scene for the material preview that will be used for the preview (see also

Material Preview).

Frame Rate (FPS) [1..100]

Sets the frame rate for animated previews. The Preview Length is the length of the looped animation preview.

Preview Length (sec) [0..2147483647]

Defines the maximum length of the (looping) animated material preview.

 Node-based Materials

Node Preview Size

Here you can define the size of both previews (Node and Material) in the Attribute Manager of the Node Editor (Preview tab).

3D Preview Scene

Here the scene can be defined for which the Node Materials should be used in the Node Editor (Basic tab).

Node Previews

By default, each Node has its own preview. This can be disabled for newly created Nodes (and enabled at any time at Node level).

Preview HUD

Enable the respective scene for the Node/material preview.

 Material Manager

Default Material

Here you can define which material should be created when the New Default Material command is called up or if you double-click on an empty area of the Material Manager.

  • Standard: A material with an enabled Color channel and "old-fashioned" reflective settings will be created.
  • Physical: A material, which works physically correct via its Reflectance channel.
  • Uber: A node-based material with numerous material channels.
  • Node: An empty, node-based material.
  • Sketch: A Sketch material.
  • Hair: A Hair material.
