Joint Align

Options

Axis

Select which axis should be aligned. The following options are available:

From Joint

If enabled, the Joint Align Tool will align the axis that most closely reflects the defined direction.

X
Y
Z

None

Enable this option if you only want to align the Up Axis.

Direction

Use this setting to define the direction in which the Joints should be aligned. The following options are available:

Bone

The Joints will be aligned along the Bones.

World Axis

The Joints will point in the direction of the world axis.

Object Axis

The Joints will point in the direction of the axis of the object in the Object field.

Aim

The Joints will be oriented along the object axis of the object linked in the Object field.

Root Axis

The Joints will point in the direction of the Joint Chain’s root object.

Object

If Object Axis or Aim is selected in the Direction menu any object can be dragged into this field to serve as a reference for alignment.

Up Axis

Select which Joint axis should point upwards. The following options are available:

X
Y
Z

None

Select this option if you want to align the Axis only.

Up Direction

Use this setting to define in which direction a Joint’s Up Axis should be aligned. The following options are available:

World Axis

The up axes will point in the direction of the world axis.

Object Axis

The up axes will point in the direction of the object in the Object field.

Object Axis

The up axes will be aligned along the object axis of the object in the Object field.

Root Axis

The up axes will point in the direction of the Joint Chain’s root object.

Object

If Object Axis or Aim is selected in the Direction menu any object can be dragged into this field to serve as a reference for alignment.

Align With Previous

If any option other than None is selected in the Up Axis menu, enabling this setting will let you align the up axis to one of the proceeding Joints.

Children

Enable this option if you want to include Child objects of the currently selected Joint.

Align

Click on this button to implement the alignment.
