Vertexmap Tag

Vertex Maps (also known as vertex weighting) save a value between 0 and 1 for each of an object’s points. It can also be controlled by Fields.

Weighting can be painted interactively in Use Point mode using the following tools:

Vertex Maps are, for example, almost essential for working with Deformation objects. They make it possible to precisely define the regions affected for such an object. A Twist object, for example, can then only rotate a character’s head and not the rest of its body.

To define the vertex weighting of a surface object or spline, you have to be in Use Point mode.
