After Effects

Files can be exchanged between Cinema 4D and After Effects in the following ways:

1. Complete Cinema 4D files, including all geometry, can be opened in 3D in AfterEffects (from CC on), combined with AfterEffects elements and rendered using technology. See CINEWARE for more details.

2. 2D Multi-Pass files or 3D data for the most important objects (cameras, lights, color surface planes) can be exported from Cinema 4D as a compositing file ((*.aec) Edit Render Settings… | Save | Compositing Project File, see also After Effects).
